To continue my pop art inspired concentration, I made this image.
I was inspired by Andy Warhol's print of Mao (below) in which he added scribbles. I feel like mine are leaning towards more childish instead of art-ish, so I am going to redo this piece. I also don't think the pose my subject is doing is very strong.
If you look at Warhol's work he utilizes more bold and bright colors than you are. Try to use bolder colors. Right now your color scheme is very subdued and cool looking to me. Also try to incorporate a little bit of texture in your work like Warhol did
ReplyDeleteI really like how you have the backgrounds and that you got your inspiration from a number of pop artists. Your model is also interesting, and the facial expression works well for this image. I agree with what liz said about the color scheme. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI think you have a good start here for your concentration; however, I do think the background may need a little work. I would try to make the black additions, such as the lines and dots, a little bit more professional looking. You might be able to do this by experimenting with different brushes and brush sizes. If you notice in Andy Warhol's photo, the black lines have different widths and overlap themselves.
