I think Version 2 looks the best because there is more balance and order in the sequence. Version 1 looks a bit convoluted and distracting while the single strip sequences look more plain in comparison to Version 2. I like the black border on Version 4, so maybe add that kind of border to the layout of Version 2 to see how it looks?

Version 2 looks the nicest with the white negative spacing and symmetrical reflections. I agree that version one looks really distracting, and the other versions do not stand out as much.

Nice job on these images! I personally like the images that are reflected, especially version 2.
