The composition of this photo is very admirable. I love how this piece reminds me of the chesire cat in Alice in Wonderland. If possible, I think it would add more interest in your photo if the face faded into the background from the left. In other words, if you had the face maybe "smoke" into the right corner? This way, the face isn't just on a plain black photo, but rather fades into the corner.
Tati's idea sounds interesting. I think another way to improve it is by adding more facial features to make it stand out more, but enough to still have it fading into the background. I think the face could also be larger, because it looks a bit odd having all that negative space and the face is occupying the small part of the corner.
