I have changed my concentration and I'm going in a completely different direction. My subject is going to be more with people and maybe playing more with the background or keep it black and white. On my photo, I'm sketching/drawing on the picture. I'm adding and deleting different details of the pictures. The principle of design that I'm using is emphasis.
If you have any suggestions of where I should go with this, different things I could play with the background, it would really help.
Here's a few pictures I've played with.
I like the idea of outlining the photos but I think you need to do more with it. Maybe trace one image and put that on top of another one? I like where it is headed, I just think it is missing something.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could add another principle in, like positive/negative space, so that you can really have your subject stand out. I like how the top image has very little stuff going on in the background, so try to keep all your images like that, especially since you're going to be drawing lines on. The lines may end up clashing with the background.
ReplyDeleteI think using selective color might help add some more interest to your images. Also, you could try varying the thickness of the lines you are drawing to make them look more realistic.

ReplyDeleteThe idea and concept is very good, I just suggest that you make less lines and show more of the photo, but still have the lines drawn over. I love this idea!
ReplyDeleteLike Lindsey said experiment with color. Be careful when making eyebrows that they don't dominate the face
ReplyDeleteI don't think you need to use color, I like the black and white, it shows more emotion and I think that what you are trying to do.
ReplyDeleteI think your accuracy in the lines is very good, but I would use more contrast since the black and white doesn't have a whole lot of dimension. Maybe experiment with tracing with different textures or using black instead of white?
ReplyDeleteI like the monotone color and I think you should stick with it. I would mind where the lines are going in places with a lot of detail. The hair is looking a bit rushed and lacks the definition and accuracy of the rest of the outlines. I think you should try using different weights of brushstroke to create some contrast and to better capture the essential lines in the picture (for example, thinner and wispier lines in the hair, heavier lines on clothing, etc..).
ReplyDeleteI think it would be cool if you did a color gradient overlay on the white lines so they stand out more on the black and white images.
