Concentration

I have decided to go back to taking pictures of ink and paint in water. The glitter/oil bubbles were pretty, but lacked the movement and fluidity of water + pigment that I loved so much.
Through The New Yorker I learned about the painter turned photographer Kim Keever, who primarily photographs things, especially paint, in a large tank of water. Seeing Kim's work and how creative he is inspired me to return to using the tank of water + paint.
I have ordered more paint so I can experiment with a greater variety of colors and refill my current paints.
I am aware that my photos have glare/reflections on the glass and I will be checking out a polarizing filter to minimize that the next time I shoot.

This is a photo of Kim's, my inspiration.

  1. These look great Liz, I think I like these best so far. The only thing to work on is the glare. Good work!

  2. It looks really amazing. You were able to catch the fluidity and the movement of the ink. I am seeing some tiny white particles in there though, but I'm not sure where that is coming from.
