I took this picture at Floyd Lamb Park. It is of a barn roof with pigeons sitting in the edge. It represents both low key/high key contrast and balance.
I really like these two photos. They are very symmetrical, but at the same time the birds add an interesting detail. Also, the wood paneling adds a slight texture, which is nice. I like that it is black and white, it calls to my mind the Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds.
I like what you're going for with the different contrasts, but I think overall the first image is a bit dark. Maybe the barn structure could be lightened up, because as of now it's kind of difficult to tell what the image is. I like how in the second image you can see a lot of detail in the barn but it's still tastefully simple.
